publication inspiratio

Hey,

I was thinking about the publication, and want to do something like what is done with street fashion and street photography. Good examples of this are the New York Look Book (http://nymag.com/nymag/strategist/look/archive/) and the Sartorialist (http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/search/label/Women%20Paris)

Its fascinating for me to see how style emulates an individuals personality and I want to focus on style and personality as it is at Emily Carr. — So look out I might be asking some of you beautiful people to pose for me (very simply infront of a white background…. all you would have to do is look awesome– which you probably do already!)

any way thats what im working on. it will mostly be photos and text, (the text will possibly be commentary by me or question and answers about the outfits, though I’m not sure which one is better… any ideas?)

the cover will probably be an Illustrator made thing-a-thing…. im lacking ideas for it right now but if you have any that would be so helpful, and if you want to pose as well that would be very helpful too!

Let me know what your ideas are for this project (it has to be the best weve done so far!)

update!

ok so its been a while since ive posted anything… i have to say ive become addicted to photoshop… its ruining my relationships with people and objects (they cant flip, alter curves, change the contrast or brightness)… sigh its just not the same. any way Im over half way done my series…. the process is very slow and Im unsure how noticeble the differences will be but let me know what you guys think…img_2728fornetone-copynettwo-copynet

let me know if you notice the differences, or if there is something that you see that is wrong or painful to the eyes

thanks guys!

Photoshop Project Brainstorm

Hey,

I was brainstorming things to do for my series yesterday, and I forced myself to come up with 5 ideas. As you can see from the photos, some are good, others not so much. None the less getting everyones feedback on what they would like to see would be of great help!

Look forward to your replies!

real/fake fake/real or really fake?

Hey,

here is your first look at what my typewritter produces…. as you can see im having a little difficulty with using it… but I am glad to say that I think im addicted… and i like it!

any way, yesterdays class has got me thinking on what i would like to do, and how to have my series have context or some sort of commentary on the (mis)use of photoshop. My only delmia is how to make it not very stereotypical… if i simply do something similar to the Dove commercial which (if youve watched MTV canada) have grown tired of, than it will largely be ignored or tossed aside…

Any way, I’d love to know what other people are thinking, its a love hate relationship with completely open projects like this…
